They reflect his fascination with light, energy, color, and the deeper reaches of space. In fact I think one might argue that he was already moving away from his connection to this planet. He was moving into the mystery; his preoccupations were no longer with the dense manifestation of matter, but with the ways in which light defines our existence, makes us see objective forms, and the true nature of our very physical presence.”
